Finnish food: Blueberry Pie
I would like to talk a little bit about the food of Finland on my blog. My first favorite flavor is Blueberry Pie.
I attended a workshop organized by our school. According to this event, we were going to make a Blueberry pie with some exchange students.
I was very excited when we saw the blackberry pie cooking and food cultures workshop. Because I love cooking and trying different recipes. And for the first time in my life, I was going to cook blackberry pies. And there would be other exchange students at this event.
We attended the event immediately. We had a hard time finding the address. We attended the event with my friends Sıla and Eda. When we got there, we saw that exchange students made blueberry pies in groups of three. We created three groups. They gave us a recipe. And we started making our cake by looking at this recipe.
I think this event is very useful. Because it teaches how to do something together and help.
I had the opportunity to communicate with other students while I was doing the event. During the event, I learned that blueberry is a famous forest fruit in Finland. And I learned that the Finnish people love this pie. I learned that different fruits can be put in the cake.
My favorite thing about the event was eating the pies we made. After cooking for half an hour, we tasted our pie. I think it was a pretty good job. Because the blueberry pie we made was delicious.
Thanks to this activity, I learned another Finnish culture. I will try this recipe I learned when I returned to my country.
I'm sure my family will like it too.

BLUEBERRY PİE RECİPE
Crust:
100 g butter or margarine
100 ml sugar
1 egg
250 ml flour
1 tsp Baking Powder
Filling:
400 ml fresh blueberries
(or 300 ml frozen blueberries)
1 tbsp potato flour (starch)
50 ml sugar
Whisk the butter and sugar together until frothy. Add the egg. Mix theflour and baking powder together, and then add it to the batter.Tap the dough with floury fingers on the base of a buttered pie pan and sides.
Combine the berries, patato flour and sugar.Spread the berries over the dough. Bake at 225°C in the mid section of the oven, for about 30 minutes.
