Aura River

I loved to walk by the Aura River, which flows through the middle of the city. The color of the Ura River is brown, not blue. When I first saw the river, I thought it was dirty. Contrary to popular belief, this river was not dirty when I did some research. Many rivers in Finland were flowing brown. The reason for this is the alluviums carried from the soil. Due to these alluviums, the sea in almost the entire coastline of the country is again brown. Alluviums create a layer of mud on the sea floor and make the Gulf of Finland a shallow sea.








There are many ships anchored on both sides of the Aura River. These are fixed, they are all venues. Some serve as a café, some as a disco, and some as a restaurant. Especially in the summer, these ships are overflowing.

If you walk near the river, you will see many main points such as Turku Cathedral, Old Grand Square and City Library.
